‘The Road to become One' is ASJ's first major work after residing in local label and collective Abusrd TRAX. Putting together her reflection and introspection about various moments in life, ASJ transforms them sonically into musical pieces in rejuvenating moods using highly melodious song structure and humanized music texture that echoes her motivation to ride the audience an emotional and reinvigorating journey. 

 

Through this EP, she want to connect herself with the listeners. Its energy goes from soft to hard then emotional and energizing. It's just like the complex emotions of dreams & life. She created a vibe that similar to an energy booster, hoping to inspire listeners to think of their own story and embrace their journey.

 

 

Track-by-Track notes

 

 

''Reverie'' is realated to the state of mind when I meditate, feeling calm, visualizing, that state of being is like reverie, to let go and trusting the universe to have your back.

 

"Monologue" is a track that I created specifically as a tribute for Absurd Trax, In the track I experimented with different elements and also Chinese Instrument like the high pitched erhu, It gave the song a taste of confidence and an emerge of strength. The whispery "Absurd TRAX" & "together" that I chopped up throughout the track is a reminder of how togetherness/ a community of creativity is so important. 

 

''Awareness'' is about self awareness, most of the time we forgot to pay attention to what we do and feel at the present moment, but really if we take a closer look at it, we will know more about ourselves and our relation with the universe. 

 

 My favourite track ''Dreams'' is inspired by the people that I've met along my journey. Everybody is following their own dream, in very special ways. To me there is nothing more important than having a dream to look forward to. And we are all made of Dreams. 

 

''EPHEMERAL'' is related to my love life. I named it as ''what is love'' before, but thought its lame, so I changed it to EPHEMERAL. I  was frustrated with the idea of what love is. I was a bit moody. To cheer myself up, I made this track, to remind myself nothing is permanent, the best way is to learn to detach from the idea of expectation and be more gentle to myself.     

 

''Migration'' is the idea of me wanting to move far far away from what I'm currently comfortable with, my idea of packing my stuff right away and just go on a voyage of discovery and exploration, a sense of curiosity to try something new. 

 

''Labyrinth'' - sometimes life is like a Labyrinth of obstacles that we have to overcome and take challenges. This track first filled with hope, like when you have a goal in your head, then you go hard to achieve it, but u face hardship, therefore it goes intense. Afterwards the problem solved, even you felt annoyed but in the end you learnt something from the experience. 

 

''Desolation'' means solitude,  it is something to be celebrate for, Because at the end of the day we all die alone, so learn to love being alone is the best gift we could offer ourselves. 

 

 

“We are one, nothing is separate within ourselves, but I'm still learning along the way, sometimes there are obstacles that life crashes you, self doubt, toxic thought, bad relationship etc. But in the end it's another lesson teaching you about LOVE.''
